With the fantastic winter weather we have been having a mate and I decided to play in the Surf with the Kingy at Pennington main beach . Mark was on hand to take a few photo's...

It always looks bigger when you are out there but it was a little tricky as the backline was standing a bit on the bank.. The shore-break needed a little negotiating but nothing compared to what Pennington usually offers up.

We had great fun, the Kingy just doesn't perform like a fishing ski.... it's just too much fun. You really can play in the surf and not once did I feel that I wasn't in control... The self drainers do a good job of getting rid of the water and by the time you get to backline the foot wells are almost empty....

The most remarkable thing is how quickly you get onto the wave and then with a few strokes you are up to speed.... The big rudder helps you keep the nose straight and not once could we dig the nose of the ski in, with the extra bouyancy in the nose and the shape it keeps 'popping' itself out of the water.

On the way out the ski is at it's best, it climbs over the foamies and punches through the face waves so you don't feel like you are going to do that backward cart-wheel like some of the other ski's make you do....this punching through also takes out a few feet of the free fall on the back of the wave.

Anyway if you want to give it a go there is a Demo at Eric's Canoes factory....

Cheers Anton

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
